Operating the Dogtra 200C Remote Training Collar

How do I fit the e-collar?

• The e-collar needs to fit properly to ensure consistent correction. This means the stainless steel contact points must be firmly pressed against the dog’s skin. To make sure the e-collar fits correctly:
  • Put the receiver on your dog’s neck below the ears, on either side of the windpipe.
  • Make sure the contact points are firmly pressed against the skin.
  • Check the fit. You should be able to fit a couple of fingers between the strap and your dog’s skin.

If your dog’s hair is too thick, you may consider getting longer contact points. Another option is to shave your dog’s hair where the contact points should touch.

If the collar is too loose, it won’t administer correction reliably. If the collar is too tight, it may cause irritation.

Make sure your dog is comfortable. Rotate the collar every 2 hours and never leave it on for more than 10 hours every day.

Charging your Dogtra 200C e-collar

• To charge your Dogtra 200C remote trainer, follow the following steps:

1. 1. Open the rubber plugs on the transmitter and receiver. Plug the charging cable.
   2. Plug the charger into a 120-volt wall outlet. (Please note that you can also purchase an auto charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter.)
   3. Check the indicator lights. The lights should be red when properly plugged.

The indicator lights will turn green once the unit is fully charged.

You will need to turn the 200C on again before use as it shuts off when being charged.

Troubleshooting the Dogtra 1900S Remote Training Collar

1. Why is my dog not reacting to the e-collar?

Your dog not reacting to the e-collar stimulation could be a simple matter of the receiver and transmitter not being turned on. It could also be due to the prongs not touching your dog's skin. Check the fit. If the fit is okay, check the prong length. If the contact points are too short, you may want to get longer ones to get the collar to work correctly. If you are already using the longest length, you may consider shaving your dog's hair to get better contact.

2. The test light turns on, but I do not feel anything.

You may simply have a high tolerance. Try turning the level up. This could also be due to the battery being low. Check your LCD for battery life.

3. The range is less when the dog is farther away.

Check if the antenna is not damaged. It could be due to terrain if it’s not an antenna issue. Heavy brush or tree cover can affect the range of the device. Similarly, any electrical conductors in the area will affect the range of the e-collar.

4. My 200C is not holding a charge.

Check if the batteries are charged properly. If the charging port is dirty, try cleaning the dirt with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. If the charging pin is damaged, contact Dogtra for repair.
